Bio
Steven Fahy is a 29-year-old runner and Brooks Running employee who recently won the Dallas Marathon in his debut with a time of 2:23:28. A 2019 NCAA steeplechase champion from Stanford University, Steven is a five-time All-American, academic All-American, and two-time Pac-12 steeplechase champion. Growing up in Carlsbad, California, Steven started competitive racing at age seven, following in the footsteps of his Irish father and runner mother. He ran at La Costa Canyon High School alongside his older brother, who went on to run at Georgetown. Steven's high school career culminated in matching his brother's school record in the 3,200 meters as a senior. At Stanford, Steven ran the steeplechase and became one of the program's most decorated athletes. His collegiate career included winning the 2019 NCAA steeplechase championship, earning five All-American honors, and capturing two Pac-12 steeplechase titles. He also competed on the track post-collegiately, running a 3:41 1500m in 2021. Steven moved to Dallas on July 1, 2023, and spent his first two years running solo while traveling frequently for work to places like Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Little Rock. In summer 2024, he connected with the Dallas running community, training regularly with the Sloths and Train Pegasus groups at Germany Park and East Dallas Middle Ground alongside runners like Matt Campbell, David Salyer, Troy Castle, Mick, Mimi, and Jennifer Pope. His marathon debut came full circle when he won on the same Dallas routes he trains daily, surrounded by the training partners who supported his build. Steven is currently eyeing Eugene Marathon for spring 2026 and potentially a faster fall marathon later in 2026.
